Nais ni Senador Francis Tolentino na isama ng mga atleta sa prayoridad na mabigyan ng vaccine. Kung kaya, umapela ang senador sa Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Management o Emerging Infectious Diseases.
Aniya, dapat ding ituring na essential workers ang mga atleta. Dapat na isama sa “A4 Priority” ang amateur at pro athletes. Sa gayun ay agad silang mabigyan ng COVID-19 vaccine.
Isa pa, sinabi rin ng senador na malapit na ang Tokyo Olympics. Gayundin ang SEA sa Hanoi, Vietnam sa Nov. 21-Dec. 3.
“The athletes should also be prioritized as sports development should be part of the post pandemic recovery process,” ani Tolentino said.
“The physical well-being of our athletes is reflective of the health of the nation.”
Sa ngayon, 7 Pinoy athletes ang may ticket sa olympics. Samantalang nasa 626 naman ang sasalang sa 31st SEA Games.
Kaugnay dito, sinabi ni POC President Rep. Bambol Tolentino na nagpledge si ports tycoon Enrique Razon. Aniya, magbibigay ito ng Moderna vaccine sa POC delegation. Kabilang na rin ang administrative staff at media.
