PSA AWARD KAY POC CHIEF (REP.) ‘BAMBOL’ TOLENTINO

A well- deserved recognition for a seasoned sports leadership icon.

Ang magiting na lider na namuno sa Philippine sports partikular sa panahon ng madilim na kabanata ng larangan ang isa sa pararangalan ng Philippine Sportswriters Association (PSA) kasama ng iba pang achievers noong 2020.

Si Philippine Olympic Committee (POC) President Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino ay gagawaran ng President’s Award sa gaganaping SMC-PSA Annual Awards Night na itatanghal sa TV5 Media Center sa Marso 27.

  Bilang isang Representante ng 8th District ng Cavite, ang pinuno ng POC ay nag-insert ng P180 milyon item para sa Bayanihan to Recover as One Act 2 laan  sa kapakanan ng mga atleta at coaches ng pambansang koponan.

Sa ilalim ng House of Representative version ng Republic Act 114.94, ang mga miyembro ng national squad ay tatanggap ng buwanang allowances ng buo na nagsimula noong Nobyembre 2020 matapos na matapyasan ito sa kasagsagan ng pandemya.

 “Even before the din of victorious Philippine campaign in the 2019 Southeast Asian Games was over, He (Tolentino) proceeded to lead the way for Philippine sports through uncertainty and darkness wrought upon by an invincible and merciless adversity in 2020,” wika ni PSA president Tito Talao- sports editor ng Manila Bulletin, kaugnay ng pagpili kay Tolentino sa naturang parangal.

 “If for this alone, the PSA President’s Award is most sincerely presented to Rep.Abraham ‘Bambol’ Tolentino, president of the Philippine Olympic Committee.

Ang 57 -anyos na dating Councilor at Mayor ng Tagaytay City ay nasa hanay ng mga magigiting na  gagawaran din ng President’s Award tulad nina World Champion at Tokyo Olympic bound gymnast Carlos Yulo, ang National University Lady Bulldogs at Gilas Pilipinas 3.0, Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP) chairman emeritus at PBA team owner Manny V. Pangilinan, Ateneo men’s basketball team, pool champions Rubilen Amit , Dennis Orcullo, LeeVan Corteza atbp.
